Even though he was born, raised, and educated in Iowa, Jamie wasted no time planting deep roots in Indiana. After graduating from Assumption High School in Davenport, IA, he attended Iowa State and Marycrest Universities, completing a degree in computer graphics. He then worked as a computer animator at EBI Video in Davenport. The next step in his career path brought him to Chicago where he continued in the world of design working for Laser Reproductions in Skokie.
In 2002, Jamie met his wife, Lizette, who works for General Growth Properties, a commercial real estate developer in Chicago. With her invaluable support, he decided to follow in the footsteps of his father and enrolled at The John Marshall Law School, graduating in 2008. While there, he worked at the Fair Housing Legal Clinic representing victims of housing discrimination. Following graduation, he passed the Indiana Bar and Illinois Bar. Prior to starting at Efron & Efron, P.C., Jamie worked as an extern in the Chicago Park District’s legal department.
Between classes, exams, and studying, he was busy helping raise his daughter Cristina, born May, 2006. Little sister Genevieve joined their family in March, 2009. As the eldest of six brothers and sisters, he was well-trained in parenting duties.
It was during this same time period that Jamie and Lizette built a new home in Chesterton, near her family. Extremely proficient in all manner of do-it-yourself projects, he was very involved in the designing, planning, and finishing of their home.
He has become active in the community, as a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and as a past president of the Villages of Sand Creek Home Owners Association.
In addition to being a handyman extraordinaire, Jamie is a gourmet cook, an accomplished photographer, and does his best to be an avid runner and golfer.
